Radio: 95 to 97
#1
Someone keeps asking me about putting in another radio in his MGM. Since this information might be valuable to others, here are the details (note: these models haveno external antenna but instead the radio antenna integrated into the rear windshield defogger grid).
Hereare the factory plugs:

Pin-out for the black plug:

Ford shares radios among a number of different vehicles, even though 1995 and latermodels do not have power antennas, PIN 2 is still hot when the radio is turned on. This can be useful if one desires to keep the stock head unit, but connect aftermarket amplifiers and need an amp turn on lead.
And, pin-out for the grey plug (it says "black" in the diagram, but is for the grey one):

If you want to use a newer factory radio (i.e. '98 and later), you need an adapter like this (available i.e. at www.radiosandmore.com):

That should be all. Any questions, well, ask.

Here is the corresponding harness (adapter), once from the dealer I posted before, and a listing on eBay:

As you can see, the adapter has 2 MALE connectors, which will go into your 2 FEMALE plugs in your car.
The square plug on the adapter (FEMALE) connects to your MALE connectors on the back of the new radio.
Greetings!
