View Full Version : Strange Noise in 97 Villager kbsmom 07-13-2008, 11:17 AM My 1997 Mercury Villager is making a strange noise. When I put the brake on, it goes away. Any ideas????? conan312 08-02-2008, 03:42 AM I''m going with a wear indicator on the brake pad. Check the front pads for wear and possible rotor damage. jason sereiko 08-13-2008, 02:22 PM most likely you have rust from the rotor that broke off and is being dragged on the pad and rotor. this will cause the noise goes away when you hit the brakes. clean the rotor sides with as wire brush, not thepart that the brakes go on . th edges flake off rust and get stuck between the pads. conan312 08-13-2008, 06:09 PM If you have brake noise, check the rotors and the pads for wear, or drums and shoes for the same. If rust was capable of making a strange noise by getting in between a pad and a rotor,(not happening) it would be obliterated immediatly. Next time just ask kbsmom if a solution was found to the problem when you feel like throwing in your rusty 2 cents. You are a posting whore Jason, who has no idea of proper forum etiquette. smileys/smiley5.gif jason sereiko 08-13-2008, 06:28 PM WOW! how old are you? what is wrong with you. please let this be an example to not take the advice fromm a psyco jason sereiko 08-13-2008, 06:30 PM just check the brakes and see if it is the pads or rust. does it matter who is right or wrong? please just ignore conan. he has some mental problems and low self image of him self |
