I have a 98 Mountaineer and have replaced the front arm rest above the center consel, three times. People tend to get in a vehicle and use it to adjust themselves into the seat and SNAP. Grrrr. Not a cheap part to replace at all!

AND now that I have had the vehicle paid off for a few months, the driver's door has a feature that allows me to unluck all four doors with a double turn to the right in the exterior driver's door. All of a sudden, this feature has quit working and the door "dinger" is dinging all the time while the driver's door is open (getting in or out). This is the sound I used to hear when I left the keys in the ignition or left the lights on. And now it appears only to happen when I have the driver's door open. Hmmmmm. I have disconnected the battery in an attempt to reset the computer, and I have checked the fuses.....anyone have any ideas for me????smileys/smiley5.gifsmileys/smiley7.gif

Check to see if your door ajar light is staying on your dashboard and if the interior lights are coming on/off.. Let me know

No, the lights are fine in that area.

You may have a bad ignition cylinder that would cause that type of problem. And if the car thought the keys were in the ignition then it would not allow the door unlock feature to work..
