Thinking about buying a 1995 Mercury Cougar.
I've got a question about it though.
This is the 4.6L V8 XR7 model. The main thing that concerns me about this car is that if you get on the gas, it seems that the transmission slips between first and second. While it's in the process of switching gears, the RPMs seem to fluctuate rapidly until it gets into second.
If you just get on the gas normally, both in town and on the highway, it seems to shift fine through all gears.
This car has 152,000 miles on it. From what I can tell, it looks very clean, both inside, outside and in the engine bay. From what little I could see, it looks like the inside of the engine is clean too (checked from the oil fill cap).
