Wireless key fob not working
2002 mountaineer v8.
Originally it was flakey, working sometimes but not others.
I replaced the key fob completely, new battery and all and connected it. Worked for a day and stopped working. I disconnected the battery and the key fob started working again when battery was reconnected. A while after the key fob sopped working yet again and ever since, if I want to use the wireless lock, I have to unplug the battery and it will work for two days.
Any idea what is going on? Seems like an issue with the car, not the fob.
Oh yeah, and one time it stopped working after I noticed I could unlock somebody else's car at the grocery store....

Sensitivity and faulty operation occurs at significant frequency in Ford Products. I once trouble shooted a 2002 Ford Taurus. It would not start when parked near an entrance to a Medical Lab. When they used the MRI it would cause the FOB to lock out.. Both the Manufacturer and MRI companies need to take an intelligent ( actual designers/engineers) look at this ( Learn redundant robust design)!!
My fix was have my client park another 100' away. Just what FORD intended take it out of the 85 year old!
