Default 93 GM drivers side wiper not working, passenger side wiper works.

Problem:
Presented for repair a 93 GM with the drivers side wiper arm not moving. Upon inspection it was noted passenger side worked fine.

Inspection: Open hood and removed rubber seal along top of plastic cowl, removed drivers side cowl (four clips and three Phillips head screws) carefully sliding up onto wipers out of the way, removed center plastic cowl (held in place with three molded clips). Inspecting the drivers side, where the linkage coming from the center (wiper transmission) meets with the bracket, the wiper arm is attached to, there is a nylon bushing and the steel ball that cups into the bushing forming a sort of cushioned joint. the ball had rusted/fatigued and broke, thus no wiper arm connection. There was a ton of old leaves and debris, seemed to collect in this spot, under this connection, which lead to rusting/breaking of this connection.

Fix: You could fork out the bucks and replace the linkage or the entire system. Simple fix was proper sized stainless steel carriage bolt/washers/nylon washers to fill the larger hole in the arm that attaches to the wiper arm bracket/ nylon lock nut etc. Careful to leave a little play and not tighten to much to try and simulate the nylon bushing(
cushioned bearing-like component to the linkage arms) you removed. Wiper is now functioning proper and folks are tickled at the cheap fix. As to how long this simple fix will last, I will update this article at a later date.

I posted this particular fix to try and help save people some money and the expense of having to replace the entire wiper transmission assembly and to help people having this problem. The CV's & GM's seem to be prone for this type of failure because the moisture holding debris pile up around these parts. Hopefully this will help some folks, thanks for reading!
