Noise when I turn left
I have 2002 Mountaineer. It has the normal rear end noise. But now when I steer left @ speeds above 25mph and up it makes noise that almost sounds like bad wheel bearings. Just replaced the front wheel bearing, didn't help. Check all the bushings they all seem to be ok. Could it be the carrier bearing are bad?

I had the same problem when i turned right, i had to get the ball joints replaced before i could get my tires alighned and i asked my mechanic. it turned out that the stabilizer was broken in half but still LOOKED fine, after those repairs were done, the noise went away.

this may sound stupid, but check your lugnuts torques. make sure there isnt any rust where the wheel seats to the axel. Check your cv shaft too, usually clicks when bad but ive seen them come into the shop that hummed or hissed like a bearing. Check the whole front end for play, especially the tierods. Make sure your tire pressures are all dead-on, if the whole front end is tight and all of those things check out, id get into the stearing box and all of the other steering linkages.
