2002 Mercury Sable LS 74k
Over the last couple of days my red brake emergency light has been coming on. In the dark there is a trace of the ABS light which glows brighter when the brake is applied. The mechanics have tested for codes, checked the reservoir sensor, for leaks etc. but all checks out OK. Any ideas. The brakes are fine as is the emergency brake and sensor.

Wish I could help with your issue. My '03 Grand Marquis 'brake warning' light comes on when hard braking at highway speed, then go out when pedal lifted.
This is the same indicator that indicates that the 'park brake' is engaged.
Warning light does not illuminate under normal braking.
Fluid at normal level, no leaks, and braking deceleration seems normal.
I will return here if I find any info. on this,
