Default 2000 Marquis Blend Door Issue

Hi All,

I have a 2000 Grand Marquis with a blend door issue. The unit is automatic. I can reset the unit with the button combination and hear the doors reset. When I turn on max air, the A/C comes on and blows cold like it should. After a few minute or a few seconds (depends on how it feels) it will switch over and start blowing hot air. I don't want to fix it, I want to jury rig it. I feel if I cut the power to the motor in the actuator when it's on cold, that would work for me.

Does anyone know if this would work? If so, which wire to clip or plug to unhook and where and how to get to it. Times are tough and I can afford the cost of dash removal and repair. I have the wiring diagrams and color coding but need to know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated

what is the button combination and where do you enter it. I replaced my blend door actuator on my 2000 Grand Marquis and it changed from heat to air then stopped. I read somewhere if you don't reset and clear the code from the control head then the new actuator won't work either. I found an easy way to replace the acuator and it cut the time down to about two hours just can't get it to work now.
