Default hypertech programmer help

Hey guys, I just bought a hypertech max energy programmer for my 1998 grand marquis... i downloaded the software, selected the crown vic/ grand marquis tune... downloaded it to the tuner and then i plugged it into the odbii port under the dash... everything was going smoothly, until i got to the screen where it told me to "enter my vin" so i did, and then it happened... "error 6E has occurred" after replacing the battery, removing every fuse that would suck any kind of power away from the programmer, i tried again.. to no avail. i called tech support and they where nice and helpful, but they couldn't get my programmer to work.. Can somebody help me?

Default hypertech

Just got a hypertech max energy programmer for my 98 grand marquis. I'm getting a 6E error code so I called hypertech and they said its the right one, but they said it's drawing power for some where. So I charged the battery and took out some fuses that might be pulling power and still getting 6E code. can anyone help thanks
