I have an '88 with the 5.0 that I just purchased for 600 dollars. Almost nothing wrong with the car interior is immaculate and exterior has almost no rust. However the car seems to not want to go if you press the gas, misfires and bogs down a lot. Now if you let off the gas easy it will slowly accelerate but God forbid if you have to go over a hill. I am pretty sure that replacing the distribution cap will solve this issue. But I'm not sure it has new plugs and wires fresh oil and tranny fluid. Could it be my MAF? Has anyone run into this issue? This is my second 5.0 car my first being a Capri. I have no diagnostic tools and have no access to one that would be able to read it. I am unable to get the vehicle to advanced or AutoZone for the to run the computer over it.
