1992 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Airbag light flashing on dashboard. I am told Code 13.

Need help finding the airbag module so that I can ship out to be repaired.

Any other information about this procedure is helpful - taking the module out.

Thank you.

The dealer can give you a print out of it. go to the parts counter. It is also suppose to be free but they might charge you a couple of bucks. it will be the exact exploded view that the mechanics get

I visited dealer. They suggested that I make an appointment for service.

So back to my original question.

Does anyone know if Chilton or Haynes would have this information?

Ebay or try junkyarddog.com for the parts. The autozone site tells you how farther down the page but is not complete. I did find these instructions for a 93 on steering column removale that includes the airbag, it should be the same.

Thanks. That was informative.

But I am seeking the computer chip/module replacement. I have found a website that will remanufacture the module. I just need to find the module. My airbag is fine. I have code 13 that states the module may need replacing. Some modules are under seat some are in dash. Just seeking to remove the computer module to get it fixed. Thanks.

I visited another LM dealer.

This parts guy did provide a rendering/drawing of the dash that shows the Air Bag Diagnostic Module. The diagram is front to back, in other words looking from the cowl towards rear. It does show the module somewhere inside/near what looks like the glove box.

I guess I look under glove box first, then try to remove the glove box.

UNIxxx, I own the same year and model.

And I had the same issue.

First: The airbag module (mostly light blue in color) is located behind the gove compartment. 2 screws inside will allow it to flip down, then you can see it.

Second: I took mine out, and since I was told it needed to be replaced, I washed it in Electrostat (the bottle had this name on it). It''s a white bottle, black print, I got it from an Electrician.

When I say washing, I mean that I drowned whatever visible connector there were. I used Air-In-A-Can and put it back in, workes fine since then.

Otherwise, if you are looking for a cheap one (without any guarantee of course) ebay or Northstorm are good choices.

Greetings!
