I have a 2001 Cougar and I'm needing new tires...AGAIN! Eeeek. My OEM tires were BF Goodrich Comp TA's, my second set were BF Goodrich Traction TA's. I got 29,282 miles on my OEM's, and just about 21,000 on my Traction TA's. I did somehow get out of alignment on the last 5,000 miles on the Traction TA's....but even without that, I would still need new tires. I live in Utah where we range from 100 degrees in the summer to -20 in the winter, so I need an all season tire. I want to keep my good handling, but I need to have longer lasting tires....I can't afford $600 every two years! The Traction TA's were also quite loud on the highway. I think I'm ready to get out of the T and V speed rated tires and move to an H rated coupe/passenger tire. Most likely I have to go from a 215/50/16 to a 215/55/16 tire. I drive very spirited on the highway....I do like to corner. Does anyone have any experience with a great tire with the above qualities? I would surely appreciate your help. Thank you! :-)

have you looked into a Firestone dealer and looked up prices for fuzion hri or the firestone firehawk? i used to work for a sister company of firestone(Tires Plus) and the fuzion tires are decent priced and wear ok as long as you arent burning them up

Thanks for the response. I looked at Firestone tires, but the reviews were terrible. I will look up the Fuzion tires you mentioned. Thanks again. So far I'm liking my Michelin Primacy tires. As I get more miles on them, I'll continue to post their performance.

Well it''s been another year and I still like my Michelin Primacy tires. Dry and wet road driving is great. They aren''t super great in the snow but I do get decent traction for a "non-snow tire." I would purchase these tires again. I''ve driven about 15,000 miles on the tires.

Suggestions for future tire needs.

Research on Tirerack.com. My personal favorite all-around all season tires are the Yokohama Avid Touring TRZ. Gotten sets for the Mystique, and my daughters Accord. Fantastic tire. Not much experience in snow as I live in Florida, but tirerack.com reviews & ratings should help sort that out.

TourDeForce,

Thanks for the future tire info. I'm now on my 2nd set of Michelin Primacy MXV4 and I love them! I got almost 4 years off the first set, excellent wear. I forgot how many miles I got on on them, but it was much higher than the BF Goodrich Traction TA's.
