1999 Tracer Rear Brakes
#1
1999 Tracer Rear Brakes
Picked-up a 99 Tracer as sons first car last year,
and just put new rear Drums and Pads and Springs.
Other than rusty, both cylinders looked good, compressed
and released, and rubber looked good so kept as was.
And kept the same self-adjusters, yet cleaned up ++
w/ Brake Cleaner.
One side just "struggled" to spin freely (even getting the
adjuster backed off to get hub on was tight). Yet, done
and we adjusted the parking brake... I finally feel the
rears doing their job on the car... yet, I've had alot of
4cyl. light cars where I can flip in N. and pull up parking
brake and veh. rears lock up (in my case, do a 180°).
Yet, NO way in this Tracer... get a very "spongy" feeling
when pulling the parking brake in N. and just "slows" the
car... never grabs / or lock-up. Tooled around, don't
appear to be dragging yet have not jacked back up to
review if they're spinning freely.
Just to ask regarding anyones experience with a Later
90's Tracer's rear brakes ?
Greatly appreciate.
