1979 mercury caprirs turbo carburated??
 

Hello all!! i am picking up a 79 capri rs turbo tomorrow. i havnt seen it yet other than exterior pics. im being told that it has a carburated turbo engine. all original from day one. ive tried searching the web about it but find vague if any mention about a carburated turbo rs. has anyone seen this engine before?? if so can you give me any info like, is this a one year only option, can it be retro fitted to the efi turbo system or any websites to search for more info on this set up. thanks for your help.

Just bought a 91 that is turbo charged
 

I am just getting into the convertible "sport" car and find it a steep learning curve. This one has a turbo on it and is fuel injected as well. I'm lead to believe it's a 1.6 l., but the turbo boosts it to 132 h.p.

I'm not sure that is relevant to your 1979 though. I think mine was only built from 91-94. I'll bet someone out there could respond better to your post if they find it. I am hoping for help with a few issues myself and have posted what I need. Good luck.
