Hey everyone, first time on the site just a few questions

i have a 83 capri RS, 3.8 auto
now i want to drop in a 302, will it bolt up to the tranny?

it might, but the v6 tranny wasn''t really built to take the grunt of a v8 (it might hold up to a stock lean v8, but not a modded up or performance v8). if you do the engine swap, get a matching tranny for the 302.

ya thats what i thought, i think the v6 tranny would be compatable..but at stock horsepower and torque
do you know of any good sites that have interior and exterior dress up stuff for the capri?

not anything beyond what google would show and that''s usually the best place to start searching (or your favorite search engine of course)

I think they used 3 or 4 tranny''s 2.3, 2.3T 6 Essex, or 8.(C3, C6, 4-spd., T-5, AOD, all around that time) You should just check and see what you have in there. They did come with 302''s like the Mustang. You would need to change the motor mounts. Maybe the radiator, too. Good luck. Edited by: conan312

ya im pretty sure the tranny should bolt right up, but i think i might just do a standard swap anyway
