How can I tell if I have the early or late model for the year? Are the Turbo engines all the same for the 4 years? Can I put a 94 in a 91?

If you look at the build sticker on the latch side of the drivers door, it will show you a build date. A basic rule I learned selling auto parts for many years is, the 6th month of the year and after you usually round up to the next year when buying parts. So a Capri with a 9/96 build date would be considered a 1997. I am going to go out on a limb and say that that the parts are all interchangable because of the very short run on that particular Capri body style. Call your local bone-yard to be sure. The only qualm I would have is putting a Capri turbo engine into a Capri that was born without it.

I know this is an older thread, but in case others are still checking it...The month and day are painted on the drivers side shock tower in yellow or red numbers.
