I bought a 69 cougar with a 351. It ran pretty good but starting knocking during acceleration. I changed the 1 2 3 4 cylinders plugs and wires and was going to do the rest tommorrow but when I went to start it it wouldn't start. I went ahead and changed all plugs and wires( I am using the same plugs that were in there Motorcraft asf42c. I gapped the new ones at .035 and the old were .045) The distributor is getting spark and I changed the coil just in case. Firing order is 13726548 and I have checked over and over even tried the other firing order in my book 154...... I pulled the first 4 plugs to check and 3 and 4 were wet with gas but after awhile I did give it some gas thinking it may not be getting enough. I bought this car for my son and he needs it for work so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Possibly Points and Condenser if they havent been updated.Could beTiming or timing chain. The manual should have instructions to check top dead center. Also check the distributor cap for cracks inside.
