I have a '92 Merc Cougar. Does anyone have advise on how to replace the upper and lower ball joints? How easy is it to do myself?

I've replaced the lower control arm assy on an 87 Merc Sable. The suspension is similar. The lower control arm best price was from RockAuto.com. Comes with the pinch and frame bolt but doesn't state. Motorcraft for your car for $55 ea plus S/H. Medium DIY. I used a bottle floor jack to nudge the inner connect to the frame. You will need a breaker bar and torque wrench. Instructions say to torque inner bolt at vehicle height. I used Armor All to lube the innerbushing thoroughly and torqued to specs. When finished, rapid drop from the hyd floor jack. Upper ball joints were still good at 155k miles.

Thanks RogerB. Can you explain how you used the bottle floor jack some more?
