The pins and bushings are worn on the drivers side of my wife's 2000 cougar. When I went to the dealer to buy new ones they said that I had to buy the complete hinge for top and bottom $100 plus tax. Do anyone know where I can buy just the pins and bushings?

 

Check the net. If not, there is always the trusty old junkyard.

 

I have a 93 Cougar with the same problem. I found the supplies at O'Reilly's auto parts for about $14. Hope this helps

 

I had a 99 Cougar here that I ran into the same issue with.. Luckily the local AP had an assortment of pins and bushings.. I found ones that were close.. Had to drill the holes in the hinges slightly, which was fine because they were worn too...
