Most car, truck, or SUV engines can be cleaned very well, and for just a few dollars.
I've used this method for decades, on many types of vehicles.
Get One (1) gallon of SIMPLE GREEN and a One (1) pint spray-bottle.
Get a plastic bag that's big enough to cover the Alternator tightly and completely.
Get some goggles to protect your eyes while spraying -- you WILL get splashed !!
Go to a self-service Car Wash. Use the Pressure Sprayer Wand. Set the control knob to "Soap".
Before spraying, cover up the Alternator, spray the Simple Green all over the engine, the engine compartment, and the entire under-hood area.
Let it stand a few minutes so the Simple Green can soak in to the dirt/grease.
Put on the goggles, fire up the Pressure Sprayer, and spray everything you can see or reach, being carefull not to spray into the alternator.
Spray-wash the whole engine compartment on the "Soap" setting, and then another wash on the "Rinse" setting.
Your engine compartment should be sparkling clean after washing with this method.
Good Luck !!
