I''m looking at a 1965 Comet "Cyclone" that has a history racing at Connecticut Dragway and Lebanon Valley Raceway, NY. It''s advertised as an original K-code Cyclone, but a few things don''t add up. The VIN is missing the engine code. What the VIN does show is that is was built in New Jersey, and that it is a 27 code Cyclone Chassis. The DSO number is huge. It says that it was a NY district build, but there is a 4 digit number (7336) after the DSO. I doubt a K-code Cyclone would come with a 2.80:1 axle ratio. The trans code is 4 speed toploader. My problem is, if this is a Cyclone it should have been built in Lorain or LA. I''m new to the DSO bit (recently converted from the Mopar ranks) and don''t know how to enterpret this. Any guru''s out there? A picture of the VIN plate is attached. Thankyou
