Hi all,

I'm hopping someone has some advice for me other than that I have to disassemble the transmission. I have a 1956 Mercury Montclair 4 door phaeton. The engine runs but the car will not move forward. The trans fluid level is fine and the shifter linkage moves through the gears and moves the lever on the transmission housing. However the shift lever will not go into park and the car will reverse in neutral, which leads me to believe the linkage could use some adjustment. So the car will reverse in neutral but will not move forward in drive, low or any gear. Does anyone have any ideas I can try that don't involve removing the trans?
