91 mercury capri headlight issue.
 

I just recently bought a 91 capri from a relative. It is in good shape considering the year. When I got it the drivers side headlight didn't go up or down but after numerous attempts and consistent oiling I got it to work but now my issue is. The driver side and passenger side work opposite when one is up the other is down. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in when they are both in the same position. But the drivers side will skip a motion and get out of sync. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’ve come across this same problem. Only the driver side pop-up headlight was working and then one day out of the blue the right one started working but in reverse to the driver side. When I turn on the headlights the passenger side headlight pops up. Then when I turn off the headlights the driver side pops up and the passenger does down. The headlights still turn on but the pop-ups are the only problem. By chance did anyone figure out how to fix this?
