My check engine light cut on after my car cut off at a stop sign, I had it checked and it was a camshaft sensor, I went to replace it and it had fell apart now the semi circle that rotates in the shaft was bent up and now it wont work, has anyone had to replace this before, if so how bad is it?

I had the same problem with my 97 Sable. Its a very common problem. Even my Ford dealership has over 50 in stock. I recomend buying a new camshaft, which If I remember right cost about 100$.

I don't know about 99 Sable but my friend had no problem putting it in, and my car was back to working conditions in about 40 min.
