dangerous idle problem?

ok so my gf has a 99 mercury sable, recently it started idling rough, at first it would just idle a little high at cold idle, about 3000 rpm. now when stopped at a light, idle will drop very low to the point where it stalls sometimes, and also will randomly raise to about 4000. now because its automatic and in drive when it does that the car will accelerate even while stopped at a stoplight and want to pull out on her. check engine light came up today so i scanned it and got 4 different codes all to do with low fuel, or bad o2 sensors. now i highly doubt that more than one o2 sensor failed at the same time, so im thinking perhaps theres is a vac leak or even aic could be messed up. now i dont know much about these cars so if anyone can help id really appreciate it. thank you
