My son's 87 Cougar got water inside due to standing rain water, and since then his driver side door lock constantly tries to lock itself. We pulled fuse #8 to disable it, but that also disables his speedo, radio, etc. Is there an easier way to disable this? I'm guessing we'll have to pull the door panel to access the switch, or possibly the front of the arm rest where the switch is located. Not really concerned with replacement, just don't want it to drain his battery, plus it's annoying as heck listening to it constantly click, click, click... You guys were so nice in explaining to me how to remove his back seat last fall, and I thank you for that. I hope that this will be equally easy to fix.
