Hi everybody,

I am new here, and I hope that you can help me. I have a 1968 cougar, and I cannot get my brand new autometergas guage to work. I have tried everything, and someone told me that I needed a resistor. Unfortunatly, I don't know what I need. Can anyone tell me the resistance reading on a cougar xr7 fuel guage? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am desperate!!!

Thanks! Joel

What you need is a instument cluster constant voltage regulator -- it is a 2 prong small, 1" X 2" mounted on the fire wall --- Check out the master parts list book for a Mustang --- try Mac's Auto, Kanter, Dennis Carpenter or Green Sales --- they can help you. All but Green have free catalogs.

I know I have a 65 Merc Convt that has a 3 prong constant voltage regulator that seems to be one of a kind --- everyone list the 2 prong type.
