Head Gaskets

On a '97 Grand Marquis does the 4.6 have history of head gasket problems? If so, does it cause bottom-end problems if you only re-build the top half?

i think the bigger issue with your car is the intake... Ford had a recall on them since they were all plastic... the replaced versions had an aluminum crossover at the front instead of the plastic that cracked
