Hey guys, I am looking at buying a 2000 Cougar, with the 2.5L 5spd and was wondering for any areas to look at and what common problems these cars run into.





I''ve checked the car out and its a solid car with mint strut towers and rails, new exhaust, CV boots are good and appears to be a well maintained car, and will only require the 2 rear E-brake cables for a safety. Car has 286 thousand Kilometers on it and runs/shifts well.


The 1 main thing that does stick out for a needed fix is the dash has no illumination lights anywhere, radio and climate controls included.


The car in question can be mine for 400 bucks, before I decide, I was curious as to what any of you guys could tell me to look out for and check, 1st thing to do though is get it emissions tested and go from there.
