Oil change message

Every time I start my 2002 Mountaineer the "Oil change required" comes up in the message center. I press reset and all's fine, goe's to odmeter and mpg. I don't have an owners manual, just changed oil and filter. How do I reset the message and is there a way to set it to remind me at a certain millage from recent oil change like 2000-2500-3000 miles??

Yes, there are 2 places in the owners manual that discuss this. 1 tells you it's there and the other explains how to set it.

I took mine back to the dealer after they changed the oil when mine was new and he had no idea so i figured it out with the help of my book,
Here goes
1- Press setup to get system check
2-hold reset untill it says oil life 100%
Hope this helps someone.
