Power steering conversions...'56 Monterey
 

I bleed Chevy orange but don't hate me yet. I've always had a thing for Mercurys from 1952-1956. I found a beautiful, original 48,000 mile '56 Monterey a few years back and bought it. It came with no power brakes and no power steering. I've decided to add power steering to the car and here's my problem. Finding conversions for this specific car has led me to several dead ends. Borgeson has told me they do not have a Mercury specific kit available, but they gave me the parts numbers for what I assume are '56 Ford conversion kits. So... that's my problem. I already know some Ford parts are not the same as Mercury parts and I don't want to get halfway into this conversion and find out I have the wrong parts. Help!
