Replacing control module 2006 Mercury Mountaineer
 

1. Wife spilled coffee on the control module (AC/FanDirection/Defrost) in the center of the dash.
2. I replaced the control module with a used one pulled from another mountaineer at the junk yard.
3. After I connect everything and crank up, the whole dash lights up with error codes that don’t make sense, all of them, so many error codes.
4. The air cooled prior to new module and now it doesn’t.

Summary of problems I have:
Dash is lit up like a Christmas tree and the air doesn’t cool at all.
Does anyone know if buying a new control module and replacing it will fix this
or is the computer already too confused.

If you DID NOT disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal before doing ANY electrical work, you MAY have fried the whole shebang!
If you think the computer is just "confused" -- Disconnect the battery, NEGATIVE cable 1st, then POSITIVE.
Now is a good time to clean, fill-to-proper-level, and charge the battery. Distilled water ONLY!
Before re-connecting the battery, make sure that ALL accessories are turned "OFF".
Let the battery sit for an hour before re-connecting -- POSITIVE 1st, then NEGATIVE.
Start it up, and check it out -- Good Luck !!
