Thanks, I guess I'll replace them when replacing my cracked intake then. It should be easier then.

GM having the same prob with plastic intake, only on some of them coolant is leaking into cylinders locking engine up. Easy fix thou, remove spark plugs pump water out by cranking engine and replace intake with new. Just a heads up [img]smileys/smiley2.gif[/img]

I guess I am lucky that mine cracked at thermostat housing mounting point and all of the coolant sprayed forward.

I am debating on whether to replace the o-rings on the injectors (98,000 miles). One person says to do it, another says not to risk breaking the injector to install o-rings.[img]smileys/smiley5.gif[/img]I hope to replace the spark plugs since I will be in there. What is a good manual for all of this. I'm sure Haynes won't be alot of help. How much is the factory repair manual and is it divided into sections for engine, trans, etc...? Anyone know the torque specs for intake, plugs, etc...?

You can get a fuel injector reconditioning kit that has new filter screens, new o-rings, new spacers, and complete instructions on how to recondition your fuel injectors.
Don't fall for the "rebuilt" con -- fuel injectors CANNOT be "rebuilt" !!
They CAN be reconditioned -- it doesn't take a lot of time, but a few things are necessary to do a complete and thorough job.
First, you'll need the proper parts kit.
I got mine at Amazon , but your '98 injectors are a different type than mine.
I got the Little Parts BF08 - 8 Cylinder Bosch EV1 Style Fuel Injector Service Kit.
You MAY be able to contact "Little Parts" to get the right kit for your '98 injectors.
I bought a Fuel Injector Tester/Pulser, which can be used to flush your injectors to remove any gummy deposits.
