<hr size="1">

I recently had to replace my speed sensor on my 1998 mercury V-6 sable and that took care of the speedometer and the transmission</span></font>
not shifting problem.Unfortunately I damage the wires on the top oxygen
sensor firewall side and I had to replace it.Everything work fine for 4
days then the service light came on and a code PO135 O2 Sensor
Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) and I think that is the
same one I replaced.That sensor is next to the speed sensor and there
is no room at all and when you are fighting installing that y-pipe
exhaust it is very difficult not to nick those wires.My questions
are:Is Bank 1 Sensor 1 the top sensor on the firewall side? Is there a
way to check the wiring at the plug with my fluke meter?Also has
anybody have any experience replacing that type of close fitting O2
sensor,I would like to see if there a easier and safe way to do this
with out pulling of that stupid y-pipe and possibly nicking the wires
again?

If you put any kind of small dent in the body of the o2 it destroys it.
