Say, ever worked on your sliders for thetemperature/air directioncontrol?

I'm working on a unit, and am trying to come up with something how to keep them in their rails. Don't know how exactly the original configuration was, it seems that some of the plastic tabs guiding the sliders along the rail are broken/missing.

I was trying to add a bar inside, which would limit the with of the rail. Seems to work, but don't know for sure what kind of material to use.

Any ideas or experiences?

Interesting idea. I would think you would want a soft metal like brass or something so it wouldn't eat away at the sliders. I'm trying to imagine the what the unit looks like; could you use some pinch type windlace instead of metal to limit the width of the opening? It could be crimped on there with some plers.

Certainly something to consider. Right now I'm playing with trying to get it apart (in a way that I can put it back together of course). LOL
