Hi all!

My neighbor just asked me about a trailer hitch on his MGM (I know, I find it disgusting, too LOL).

Anyhow, he had it mounted in a shop, but the coupler holding the ball coming out from underneath the bumper, is actually bending the bumper upward a little bit, including the license plate holder.

Anyone ever put one on, seen one, or heard about this? I have not seen any installation manual to see if it was put on right. I know that on some other models, depending on the manufacturer of the hitch, you actually have to cut out a small portion of the rear bumper.

Looks kind of strange. Since the plate is in the bumper, and all very low, the coupler with ball pretty much covers it all. Wonder how that would go with the cops.

I would say that the kit or install is incorrect. I have had trailer hitches installed in both my 94 and 99 and never had issues like this. The hitch on my 94 was manufactured by Draw-Tite and installed by a local dealer. It fit perfect and looked as discreet has hitches ever can. Hope this helps.

Thanks.

It looks like the shop, which put on the hitch, drilled the holes for mounting, and may have not done that according to the instructions.

I thought that it shouldn't be that way that it is touching the bumper.

Well, I guess he has to live with it, or have it remounted.

Greetings!</>
