Hi all, I have an '04 Grand Marquis and have a question. I have 2 remotes to lock/unlock the doors/trunk and turn off the factory alarm. This car also has an anti-theft system that requires me to press a button on a second remote in order to start the car. Does anyone else have a system like this? Is this a factory installed system? I can find no mention of it in the owners manual. I also didn't buy the car new, I inherited it from my father's estate. The "start" remote has 2 buttons on it, but I don't know what the 2nd button is for. I also want to know if this can be bypassed. Any help is appreciated.

I am new here but that sounds like an after-market or dealer installed option. What I did was look closely at the remote and write down the brand and number and look on-line for the company and ask them or download the manual,etc. Mine actually had an 800 number too.
