1989 corroded pipe hole and unknown blk and lt grn wires advice needed
Hot corroded pipe, broken, wraps around the sleeve that houses the transmission dipstick as per photo. Pipe is broken and (I suspect exhaust) fumes escape from hole. I am guessing the connection may involve flaring the end after fitting it through the first of the double 3/4" nut ftg. More of a concern are two wires that are free, black and light green that go towards fire wall to the right. On the left is a black square connector which has two wires missing, no colors but logic suggests these are for the loose ones, and what looks like a metal slide connector showing on top. This thick rubber connector serves a second purpose in holding the hoses for the pipe away from the hot engine block, but with pipe broken, the complete ser-up is loose and falling down. Color codes for 1989 5.0L state lt. grn. and blk. wires concerned with charging and power distribution. So don't know what the pipe does, nor where the wires go.
