1994 Grand Marquis Stuck in park

i have a 1994 Grand Marquis and it is stuck in park. what can i do to fix this?

Does the car have a brake pedal safety switch that does not allow the shifter to come out of park unless the brake pedal is pushed on?

You may also want to check the linkage under the car to see if it's rusty or if it bound up somehow.

Get Mercury factory shop cd manuals at repairmanualworld.com, and they run on all windows os, ford,lincoln,f150 to f350. Thank's
