1997 MGM, Fuel Pump / Powertrain Control Module

Hello All, I'm new to this forum but I feel I'm pretty adept at this kind of repair but this one has me pulling hair that I don't have.

Fuel pump not running, checked for power at the inertia switch (because it's easier to get to than the fuel pump), I'm only getting 6 volts there. Back-tracked to fuel pump relay, I have good power to the coil that energizes it but only 6 volts to the common pin of the switch which tells me that the wire from the relay to the inertia switch is OK. That's supposedly fed from the PCM. I ran a wire from + on battery to the wire from the inertia switch that goes directly to the fuel pump and the fuel pump started right up and so did the car. That tells me the fuel pump is fine and the problem is in the controls somewhere. Could it be a bad PCM? I don't see any grounding point on the PCM either, I suspected a bad ground but now I'm getting a little stumped.

Sorry if it's a little windy but all replies are appreciated

Thanks,
John W.

So you've ruled out FP relay?
