4.6-Liter FOMOCO Spark Plugs

BOSCH - #9605 Double-Iridium Spark Plugs -- Correct fit, best-performance plug for -
1992 - 1997 4.6 SOHC - CrownVic, Grand Marquis, & Town Car
BOSCH - #9606 Double Iridium Spark Plugs -- Correct fit, best performance plug for -
1998 - 2010 4.6 SOHC - CrownVic, Grand Marquis, & Town Car.

The Bosch #9606 is also the correct plug for 2003-2004 Marauder..

To prevent plugs from "backing out" or "blowing out" of the 4.6 liter FOMOCO engines --
1.- NEVER apply ANY "anti-seize" compound to the spark plug threads !!
2.- ALWAYS use a torque wrench to tighten the plugs properly !!
Factory specifications for spark plug tightening torque is:
10 ft./lbs -- or 120 In./lbs.
To minimize plug breakage and/or thread-stripping -- USE AN INCH-POUND TORQUE WRENCH !!
If you don't have one, GET ONE !! The wrench is cheaper than a stripped plug hole !!
Proper tightening of spark plugs is important in ANY engine, but the 4.6 liter FOMOCO is extra sensitive.
If you absolutely MUST lubricate your spark plug's threads, USE SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL !! It can take the heat, but it won't short out the plugs .
