Will 2003,2004 cobra rims fit on my 1998 MGM? does anyone know whay years fit without having to use spacers? I know the cobras are different from the regular mustang, so any help would be great.

I think the Cobra rims have a little more backspacing...which should make them just about perfect for the MGM. Which style wheels you thinking about?

Hey brother, Thanks for the tip. I just was not sure because the cobra rims are a lot wider than the Mustang stock rims. I was thinking of putting on the 2003 chrome rims on. |
You will need to be careful with your tire selection.
A stock 03 Cobra rim at 17x9 will be very near flush with the fender lip, which will look absolutely killer!!! If you use the Cobra tires (275/40-ZR17) they should clear, but you''ll need to cycle the suspension to make sure they won''t rub the fender lip when the suspension compresses. |
To put it into perspective. If you look at my car, your set will be 1 1/4" wider and nearly 2" taller with virtually the same offset.

So you guys are saying I can fit 275 40 17 tires on a 9inch cobra rim. On my 2002 mgm?

1. - The 9-inch wheels with that size tire WILL hit the front Stabilizer Bar on the INSIDE edge of the tire. 2. - A 275 mm tire is 11 inches wide -- too wide for front tires -- poor (dangerous) handling will result. 3. - 11-inch-wide tires WILL aquaplane very easily. Can't drive in the rain. Or the snow. 4. - That wheel and tire combination is EXPENSIVE -- are you SURE you want to spend so much money on something that will NOT improve your Grand Marquis comfort, ride, safety, performance, or economy ?? 5. - The 17 x 7-inch Mercury alloy wheels would be your best choice -- they'll fit right and function, too ! The 95 MERC has 15 x 6.5 alloy wheels from a '92 Lincoln Limo, with Mercury Hub Caps. Wheels made in Italy. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mer...31103b2287.jpg Classic Style "Italian Lace" Wheels.
