Default 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, shift indicator broke

I had the shift indicator stop working and the needle fell over to the right side and stopped moving. I had it fixed after finding out that the needed part is no longer available, but my tech was able to glue the broken white bracket back together and made the repair. When looking for a junk yard part I found out the the 2005 is different than other Mercs of similar age.

Default trans indicator

2005 was a weird transition year from what I have read on many forums. Ford kind of cleaned out their parts bind. Guess you will just have to find a junker at a your local " Yank it Yard" of the same make, model, year. An auto disassembler might have it. Be prepared to spend a long day at the yard or pay a high price.
