My GM has started making a constant rapid clicking noise (like the turn signal flasher when a bulb is burnt out). All lights are operating properly and the noise stops when turn signals are engaged and the normal turn signal clicks are heard. My mechanic tried replacing the turn signal switch but that didn't solve the problem. Now we are guessing its the Lighting Control Module. I understand the Mercury part number (LCM9RM) may be different from the Ford or Lincoln part number but it should interchange with any 2006 or 2007 GM, CV, or Town Car. Does anybody know a source for this item, preferably in central FL? Thanks for your help!
The LCM is available at Rockauto.com. == Part # LCM9RM.
Your "mechanic tried" to fix the problem, but it didn't work.
Now he's "guessing" that it MAY be the LCM.
You need a new mechanic. 95 MERC at Flaming Gorge, Utah. US 191 at South end of the Gorge.
There was a safety recall on the LCM a few years back. The dealer replaced it on my 2003. Not sure if the recall is still active or applied to your 2006 but it worth looking into.
