Hey got a 85 gran marquis, 302 with TBI, runs good except someties the idle speed control will just kick off and the car will die, I followed the bluish colored Vac line to a soloniod of some kind, all the vac lines look ok and connected, but once in a while the idle with just drop off and the car will die? anyone have any suggestions to what could be causing it?
it doennt matter if the ac is on or not, and if i watch the idle speed control, it will release and the rod will pull back in, then the car will idle very low and die, however it doesnt do this all the time,

take the iac motor apart and clean it good.

 

thanks for the reply, but it doesnt have a IAC motor, this little speed control is vacum controled, and i dont think it will even come apart..

 

ok that part im thinking of is the dash pot, when the ac is on the idle will increase then decrease when the ac is off or its out of gear,
