89 MGM EEC-IV bad. do replacement numbers need to match?
Just learned that my EEC IV unit is fried. Looking for a reman unit to buy. I have seen a lot of the units for sale, just none of them have the same numbers as mine. I'm assuming that they have to be the same model numbers. Mine are E8SF-12A650-VIA. Closest I have found are the same except the end prefix and it is VA. Any of you EEC experts out there tell me if that will work or do all the numbers have to match?
Thanks, Paul |

Thanks, Paul This is the whole web site: http://www.fordfuelinjection.com I doubt you will find the exact number as they change with upgrades. They were programed for the vehicle in regards to engine, transmission, weight, so I would think even one from the crown vic would work. I use to work on the cars and any EEC IV I did replaced which was from ford always had a different number than than the old one. |
Thanks Bulldozer. I'm going to end up calling tech support for the company that remans these units to find one that will work.
