CD Changer Installation 2000 Grand Marquis LS

Hey all!

Preface
So, I am in need of assistance regarding my factory radio and an external CD changer I purchased, and there’s little to no information about my situation as far as I can tell.

Intro
To get into it, I’ve always wanted a CD changer for my car, but never had the means to get one. However, recently I was able to obtain one; it came out of a 2004 Grand Marquis, and I purchased it second hand. It was described to have been tested and fully functional.

Furthermore, the radio I have primarily plays cassettes but has the option to switch between a changer and the cassette. The front of the unit is essentially flat and doesn’t have the oval around the cassette door, and the cassette door is centered within the unit. So it’s that radio and not the other type.

Also, my car did not come with a CD changer; no special trunk lining, nor was there one under the seat. My car is all original, and was purchased new by one of my relatives when it was manufactured.

Where I Need Help
With the above stated, is it possible to install the CD changer in my car? I’ve heard that perhaps there could be the wire for it somewhere in the car. However, if this is not the case, would I have to purchase an entirely new wire harness for the audio system?

All insight and feedback is appreciated, and I can provide additional information, like photos, if necessary.
