I have a 2002 Grand Marquis that I bought from a dealer. It has a red light that blinks by the driver side that looks like its for an alarm or something. How can tell if my car is compatible with remote door locks?

take it back and ask them where the remote for the car is. point out the alarm light. they should have provided the remote when you bought the car. if it''s an aftermarket system (like was on my wife''s vic) it may not be available and you''ll probably have to remove it from the car like I had to.

Yeah well the problem is that I live in NY and I bought the car in Florida so driving there isn''t really an option.

yes, that does pose a problem. you might try calling them. I do know that some alarm makers will supply new remotes if you have the appropriate numbers off the control box. (aftermarket mount locations vary on a whim, hence my suggestion to trace the LED back to the source). and if all else fails, you can remove the thing. If you''re not real good with wiring, you may want to get some help on that though. it can be a huge pain.
