Hi everyone. I found a 2004 GM gs that a guy is selling in great shape with 23,000 miles. Owned by his grandfather who passed. He was asking $6500,he accept my offer of $5,900. New tires so clean inside, all fluids looked good(color wise) Seems to good to be true. Im suppose to pick it up Tues morn. Just would like your opinion and to ask if there is anything to look out for. Thank you all very much.

Hello, and welcome to the Mercury Forums.
If the Marquis you're looking at has NO RUST, then you've found a gold mine !!
Mercs are very reliable -- trouble-free -- comfortable touring car -- mpgs = 16 city, 25 highway.
87 octane gasoline -- forget speed equipment --
CRITICAL -- get Computer wheel alignment (with printout!). Set toe, caster, and camber at "Nominals".

It has some rust starting under door frame has some rust. Drives and runs beautiful.

See if you can find a way to STOP that rust from spreading -- I know, it's tough -- they salt your roads and kill your cars.
I'm in the desert -- ain't no salt 'round here ;>)
Your '96 is nearly identical to my '95 -- under-hood stuff is exactly the same. If ya need help, gimme a holler !!
